There are a number of projects underway to improve the transport network in the Queenstown Lakes District.
Church Street upgrade
Summary: Amenity and safety improvements to Church Street / Searle Lane.
Status: Consultation closed. The Council is considering all feedback received.

Brownston / Ardmore Street improvements
Summary: Improve Brownston Street as a cross town route and making changes to Ardmore Street to better reflect its main functions as a commercial centre and visitor destination.
Status: On hold until the Wanaka Town Centre Strategy is adopted.

Remarkables Primary School
Summary: The Council is working with the New Zealand Transport Agency and the Ministry of Education to improve the transport network around the new school for when it opens in early 2010.
Status: Consultation on proposed parking restrictions underway.

School Travel Plans
Summary: School Travel Plans are underway in four local schools: Hawea Flat Primary, Wanaka Primary, Remarkables Primary, and Holy Family school.
