Liquor Bans

In this district there is a full liquor ban in the Queenstown and Wanaka CBD's between 10pm and 8am every day.  

24 hour liquor bans are usually put in place during Christmas and New years and also during Winter Festival.

Liquor licensing is managed by Lakes Environmental and covers:

• All aspects of liquor law.
• Duty managers certificates.
• Liquor licensing courses.
• Licenses for venues.
• Complaints about a venue’s license or operating conditions.
