Queenstown Town Centre Masterplan - Advisory Group Appointed
- May 1, 2017
Queenstown Lakes District Council today announced the appointment of an Advisory Group to guide the development of the Queenstown Town Centre Masterplan.
Council’s General Manager of Property and Infrastructure Peter Hansby said, “We’re thrilled to have pulled together a group of highly skilled people to challenge our thinking as we develop the Masterplan. As a group, they bring a diverse range of experience to the table in areas such as urban design, tourism, transportation, place-making, environmental, local culture, community and commercial enterprise.”
The group will provide impartial advice to help guide the masterplan programme and assurance that any proposals being made will meet the needs of Council’s partners, stakeholders and wider community.
The Advisory Group will be chaired by well-known Queenstown local Jane Taylor.
“I’m delighted to be leading a group of such highly skilled practitioners, with a collective goal of making positive change for everyone who uses the Town Centre. Together we bring local and national perspective to a very challenging and very rewarding project,” Ms Taylor said.
The full advisory group membership is: Jane Taylor (chair), Jay Cassells, Johnny Stevenson, Jacqui Moir, Steve Wilde, Mike Fisher, Graeme McIndoe, Darren Davis and Dean Whaanga.
The group will meet for the first time on May 4 and monthly going forward.
