Extraordinary Council Meeting
The Queenstown Lakes District Council will hold and extraordinary (previously unscheduled) meeting on Monday (30 August) to discuss legal proceedings in connection with issuing shares in Queenstown Airport.
“Last week legal proceedings were issued against the Council and the Queenstown Airport Corporation by Air New Zealand and a Queenstown group of businessman,’ QLDC chief executive Debra Lawson said.
Ms Lawson would be seeking resolutions from elected members as to how to proceed regarding the legal proceedings.
The meeting on Monday would be held in public excluded given the discussion related to matters before the courts.
“The meeting will allow free and frank discussion about how the organisation will proceed in these legal matters. Unfortunately that is not a conversation that can be undertaken in public,’ Ms Lawson said.
No other matters were on the agenda.
