Council to defend legal proceedings
Outcome of Extraordinary Council meeting - 30 August 2010
The Queenstown Lakes District Council will defend proceedings regarding legal action in connection with issuing shares in Queenstown Airport, QLDC chief executive Debra Lawson said.
Two weeks ago legal proceedings were issued against the Council and the Queenstown Airport Corporation by Air New Zealand and the Queenstown Community Strategic Asset Group Trustee Limited.
“The Council has independently engaged lawyers Simpson Grierson to act on its behalf and will defend proceedings,’ Ms Lawson said.
Today’s extraordinary meeting was held in public excluded given the discussion related to matters before the courts.
