It's a busy time for roadworks around our district.

Here are some of the projects that are currently taking place. Please note: while every effort is made to keep this page as up to date as possible, works are highly dependent on the weather and finish dates may not always be correct. 

Gorge Road Upgrade

Work on Gorge Road continues until June. In February, the widening of McChesney Bridge will begin and this work will be completed by the end of July.

Mount Aspiring Road

A number of major works will take place on Mount Aspiring Road this year. These include the much needed extension of water and sewer mains, new footpaths and street lighting and an upgrade of the road.

The work will be done in two stages, the first from March to May and the second from September to November. No work will be done during the busy ski season.

Delays of up to 10 minutes should be expected while the work is happening but Council will try and keep these to a minimum. This is a major project but the result will be a much improved road so thank you for your patience.
