Permits & Schemes

Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens, who hold an exemption certificate, are able to park in all 'pay and display' parking areas free of charge for the duration permitted in that area. If you exceed the time permitted, then an offence is committed for the overstay, and not for having no pay and display ticket.

Parking exemption certificates are available to all citizens aged 75 (PDF, 26KB) or over and can be applied for either at Queenstown Lakes District Council offices, with a copy of your driver’s licence.

Please download and fill in an application form from the link below and send it to: Parking Department, Queenstown Lakes District Council, Private Bag 50072, Queenstown 9348. There is no charge for the certificate.
