Wanaka Baby Memorial Wall
A memorial wall is now available at the Wanaka Cemetery to enable people mourning the death of a still born or premature baby to acknowledge their passing.
A permit must be obtained for a plaque, which will be made by the authorised manufacturer, John Swan Limited in Dunedin. Please fill in an application form and return it to:
Queenstown Lakes District Council, Private Bag 50072, Queenstown 9348 or email email@example.com.
>> Monument Permit (pdf 23.4kb)
Following the processing of this application by Council, the manufacturer will send out a draft plaque for the applicant to check prior to the manufacturing. Upon approval by the applicant, the plaque will be made and sent directly to the applicant, along with an account. The current cost for a plaque is $30.00.
There is no fee charged for the memorial permit application, unlike other headstones, but the applicant will need to arrange the fixing of the plaque to the wall via Shirl Rowley, telephone: 0274 432 515. Shirl is available for any support an applicant may require.
