Proposed Navigation Safety Bylaw 2014
As part of the Council’s regular review of bylaws, the proposed Navigation Safety Bylaw was notified for public consultation on 5 July 2014 and submissions closed on 5 August 2014.
We received 42 submissions; 24 supported the proposed bylaw in its entirety, 9 opposed the bylaw and 9 partially supported or opposed the bylaw.
Most of those who opposed the bylaw were concerned about the proposal to increase the timing of the uplifting on the Clutha River, and also the continuation of the uplifting regarding the Hunter river.
The proposed hearing dates are 18 August 2014 at 11am Lake Wanaka Centre and 2pm 20 August at Queenstown Memorial Centre.
