Wakatipu Heritage Trust
The principle objective of the Trust is to identify, facilitate, support and promote, the conservation, restoration and development of historic heritage in the region in accordance with established conservation criteria* for the benefit of the community.
Only by conserving and managing our heritage are we able to pass things we value on to the next generation. The Trust's aim is to identify a balanced and representative portfolio of heritage within the Lakes District that includes all types of historic heritage. In addition to protecting and preserving our heritage places, particularly those that are accessible to the public, we consider that developing a thorough heritage inventory and making it accessible to the public is a critical asset for the District.
*The Trust utilises the conservation criteria established by the ICOMOS NZ Charter 2010.
