∞ Every day (Mar 3, 2018 - Mar 4, 2018)
Following the success of the bi-annual mini-festivals in Te Anau, The Fiordland Festival Players have decided this year to also perform in Wanaka. Unquestionably one of the greatest composers of the romantic period, Brahms wrote a large amount of chamber music. We are endeavouring, as we do each time, to show a variety of chamber music combinations, and thus have sonatas (piano and violin, piano and cello), trios (piano cello and violin, piano viola and voice), duos for piano and voice, a movement of a string quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) and the grandiose piano quintet in F minor, for string quartet with piano. Each programme a little over an hour, with a short introduction to each piece played.
The players this year are partly members of the NZSO national orchestra, partly members of the teaching staff at the Dunedin University Music Department, all delighted to take a moment off to share some of this wonderful chamber music with the people of Wanaka
3rd March 8pm: Songs, Cello Sonata E minor, Piano Trio C Major.
