Clean-up of Jardine Park and damaged trees underway
- Jan 28, 2019
Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) contractors are set to begin the clean-up of Jardine Park and trees that may pose potential danger to the public, following last week’s high winds.
The major operation gets underway this morning (Monday 28 January) and will involve heavy machinery to remove and scale back any hazardous trees in the area.
During this time all public tracks through the affected area will be closed to the public. Warning signage is in place, and entry into the work site is prohibited until QLDC can assess and declare the site safe.
QLDC’s Parks and Reserves team is hopeful clean-up work will be complete in approximately five days and that the community will once again have normal, safe access to Jardine Park by the week’s end.
