About the expression of interest

Our Sport & Recreation team has plans to create a mural on an external wall of Queenstown Events Centre, facing the outdoor café seating area and Sir John Davies Oval. We’re looking for expressions of interest from artists who are open to involving the community in this project.

We're looking for a mural with themes of sports, colour, fun and summer.

Due to the environmental exposure of this site, we anticipate this to be a three-yearly activity.

Dimensions of site

The external wall's dimensions are:

Base: approximately 11 metres
Height (left side): approximately 4.5 metres
Height (right side): approximately 3.8 metres
Inside edge depth (right side of the wall): approximately 0.7 metres

Your expression of interest needs to have the following information:

  • Name, postal address, contact email address, mobile phone number and website, if you have one

  • Bio of artist: please include this information as an attachment and include your background and any other public artwork you have completed

  • The artwork proposal needs to include a concept of the artwork, a proposal on how you will involve the local community, and the fee or cost of your services.
