Sports Leagues

Whakataetae Hākinakina

QLDC Sport and Recreation host a variety of social and social-serious sports leagues throughout the year in both Queenstown and Wanaka. These include  netball, volleyball, basketball and 'Sport 10' (a different sport each week for 10 weeks).

Full details and registration  forms will be available via this page  in advance of each league's start dates. They are also advertised via the Sport & Rec Facebook page.

The leagues below were the most recent but are no longer open for bookings:

  • Registrations are now open for our 2020 Queenstown netball leagues.

    These are the league dates:

    • Serious Division (7-a-side) – 18 March-6 May 2020.
    • Mixed Social Division (Fast5 format with two men on court at all times) – 13 May-24 June.

    All games will be held at Queenstown Events Centre between 6.00-9.00pm.

    Cost $350 per team.

  • Registration for our 2020 Queenstown basketball leagues is now OPEN.

    We have three different grades:

    • Social mixed grade
    • Serious men's grade
    • Serious women's grade.

    Points to note:

    • Games are held on Tuesday evenings between 6.00-10.30pm
    • All games at Queenstown Events Centre, Frankton
    • League started: 7 April 2020
    • Leagues ended: 30 June 2020
    • Cost $450 per team.

    The leagues are open to a limited number of teams within each grade - spaces allocated on a first-come, first-served basis (on receipt of full payment).

    Team registration and payment is due by Thursday 19 March.
