Goat Control Operation 2022

We've employed the services of professional contractors to carry out a goat control operation starting from Monday 22 August 2022.

This operation aims to attempt to reduce the likelihood of goats becoming a hazard to vehicles, and causing further nuisance to residents' properties.

Work will continue for approximately one month from Monday 22 August and is weather dependent.

Locations

The goat control operation will target the following locations:

  • Matakauri Park, Gorge Road
  • Bluffs above Matakauri Park
  • Area above Boydtown Way, Huff Street and Fryer Street
  • Area above Bowen Street and Kiely Lane
  • Area above Greenstone Place, Scott Place and Caples Place, Fernhill
  • Water Tank Reserve Crows Nest - Arthurs Point.

Precautions

This operation will involve ground hunting and contractors will be clearly visible.

Any public walking tracks will be closed in reserves where work is being carried out, and signage and personnel will be in place during closure periods.
