Peninsula Bay Reserve Public Feedback
Peninsula Bay in Wanaka has a new extended area of public recreation reserve land.
We're seeking feedback on how you, the community, would like to use this reserve. Whether you'd like the reserve utilised for more disc golf or picnic areas, ecological preservation and enhancement, or walking and biking trails - any and all feedback is welcome.
We'd also appreciate feedback on proposals QLDC has received from Bike Wanaka Disc Golf Wanaka regarding this new Peninsula Bay reserve area.
The area is shown below by the blue outline.
About the Bike Wanaka proposal
Bike Wanaka, on behalf of the mountain bike community of Wanaka, propose to plan and develop new mountain bike tracks on the new reserve at the northern end of Wanaka's Peninsula Bay, catering to all levels in the community.
The goal is to provide:
- An easily accessible beginners cross country mountain bike track providing a mountain bike experience to all ability levels and ages.
- A mountain bike skills development area providing riders of all ability levels with a place to practice in more gentle terrain than offered by Sticky Forest or Lismore Park.
- An alternative to the existing 'Scurr Heights' multi-use track - from Platinum Ridge car park to Infinity Drive car park.
