Cemeteries
The Council manages 10 out of the 11 cemeteries in the Queenstown Lakes District.
Burial records
The Council holds information and burial records for the following cemeteries:
- Arrowtown Cemetery.
- Cardrona Cemetery.
- Frankton Cemetery.
- Glenorchy Cemetery.
- Kingston Cemetery.
- Makarora Cemetery.
- Queenstown Cemetery.
- Shotover Cemetery (proposed).
- Skippers Point Cemetery.
- Wanaka Cemetery.

Cemetery Strategy
The Council has a Cemetery Strategy which outlines how the Council will manage cemeteries in the future, including managing the effects of growth.

Monument permit
A permit must be obtained for any monumental work to be carried out in any cemetery in the Queenstown Lakes District. Please fill in an application form and return it to:
