A wastewater overflow has entered Lake Whakatipu along part of the Frankton Arm near Goldfield Heights. The issue was resolved within five minutes of the overflow occurring, but warning signage has been erected on the lakefront in the affected area. Water quality testing is underway and signage will be removed once clear results are returned.

About Councillor Bruce

I have been a Wānaka resident for over 20 years, self-employed with various business interests; my previous background is in middle and senior management.

I am very aware of the challenges and opportunities presented by growth such as Wānaka and the Upper Clutha is experiencing. We need to plan well ahead to ensure infrastructure and amenities are provided in a timely manner, not react after problems occur.

I believe in a collaborative open approach to community issues.

Priorities for me are parking, arterial roading and active transport corridors that provide both day-to-day and recreational transport alternatives.

I am married to Sue, and we have children and grandchildren residing in Wānaka giving me an appreciation of the needs and wishes of three generations.
