Activity Details

The Council needs to understand what you propose and how you will be operating on public land.

Note: Any activity on a reserve is a separate permitting process. The information you need to apply for a Reserve Permit is contained on Council's website under Permits.

Consultation and Engagement

Because the activity could have an impact on neighbouring commercial activities, the Council will need to understand the views of potentially affected parties.

Public Health and Safety

Public Safety is paramount, and Council needs to understand how you will comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation.

Nuisance Management

The purpose of the Bylaw is to manage land, and protect the public from nuisance, protect, promote and maintain public health and safety, and minimise the potential for offensive behaviour in public places.

Other Traders/Location Management

As the Council needs to ensure equitable access to public land, it needs to understand the environment which includes the use of the area by other commercial stall holders

Alignment with Clause 10.2

Because you propose to use public land to trade, you will need to provide information on how your activity will align with the criteria at Clause 10.2 of the Bylaw.

Provide comments addressing each part of Clause 10.2 and explain how your proposed activity aligns with these considerations.

Attachments required

Attach a map indicating the proposed location(s) of your activity, including details of surrounding properties, existing trees, litter bins, light poles, signs, street furniture, pits, fire hydrants, parking meters, utility supply boxes, telephone boxes, bicycle paths, car parking, and other relevant features. (Note: A separate map may be required for each location where you intend to operate.)
Attach an accurate and scaled site plan of the proposed trading activity, showing precise dimensions of the stall and occupation area.
Provide photographs of the proposed trading activity (e.g., pop-up stall setup).
Include any relevant permissions or consents, such as approvals required for the sale of food.
Provide any additional documents that may assist in the assessment of your application.
