Request for Tree Removal

Information on how to request for tree removal, as well as an online form to fill out.

Before request for tree removal

Before you begin, please ensure you have the relevant information and documents:

  • Evidence that the tree has already been assessed by Council, such as your Council Request for Service (RFS) number.

  • A completed technician arborist assessment form.

  • If your request relates to human health reasons, a form signed by a medical practitioner confirming that the tree is the cause of the health issue.

  • If your request relates to property damage, a form signed by a suitably qualified engineer confirming that the tree is the cause of the property damage.

  • If your request is for other issues, confirmation that removal meets the criteria outlined in Section 4.13 of our Tree Policy, or if removal affects a protected tree, resource consent is required. Contact QLDC’s Duty Planner for details.

QLDC’s parks team and arborist will assess applications. If the necessary information is not provided, your application may not be accepted for processing. Refer to the QLDC Tree Policy for details on potential costs that may be covered by the applicant.
