QLDC issues trail safety reminder
A variety of tree works are underway across the district, so be cautious when out and about
With the government easing lockdown restrictions, there are more people taking to Queenstown Lakes District (QLDC)’s trails and paths. While it’s good to get some exercise, it’s also important to pay attention to your surroundings and follow signposted instructions.
Ending up in a zone that is off-limits can put both yourself and others in danger. There are a variety of tree works underway across the district; please be particularly cautious in Coronet Forest and Jardine Park as tree removal operations are ongoing. Parts of both are currently closed.
There have been cases of people not following instructions in these areas and putting themselves at risk. For the safety of trail users and everyone else, always follow the directions posted on signs.
Updates about tree works and other parks matters will be posted to QLDC’s Facebook page, as here: https://www.facebook.com/QLDCinfo/
