Board meetings during the Establishment phase
The Board’s first meeting on 16 July 2026 will mark the start of an intensive establishment programme to ensure the Company is ready to assume responsibility for delivering water services on behalf of QLDC from 1 July 2027.
During this establishment phase, the Board will be working through a lot of commercially sensitive material, including legal advice and negotiations relating to employment and organisational planning. These matters need to be discussed openly and candidly to support good decision-making and protect the Company’s legal and commercial interests. Where permitted by the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, some discussions will need to be held in a public excluded session. Where this occurs, the reasons will be recorded in the agenda and minutes.
Throughout this period, the Board will engage with its shareholder, stakeholders and the public in line with the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the Companies Act 1993, the Company’s Constitution, and all other relevant legal and governance requirements.
