About the project
This playground was a community led project through the ‘Playground Sub-Committee’ of the Hāwea Community Association. In addition, QLDC funded the inclusion of a new, single unit, dry-vault toilet facility at McPhee Park.
QLDC engaged experienced professional contractors, Creospace Ltd (Creo) for the playground. Creo have already created three play spaces in our district including Rotary Park on the Wānaka Lakefront at 51 Mt Aspiring Road.
Dan Williams Construction Services Ltd was engaged to install the new toilet. Works to install the toilet facility and playground took place concurrently.
Thanks to the Hāwea Flat community for their patience while we worked to improve community facilities in our district.
