Pickleball combines the best of tennis, badminton, and table tennis in a fast, friendly game that’s accessible to everyone!


Pickleball is a fun and fast-paced racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Played with a paddle and a lightweight ball, it’s easy to learn, making it perfect for beginners — yet fast and exciting enough to keep more experienced players engaged. You can play singles or doubles, making it flexible for any group or skill level. Our sessions are social and inclusive, welcoming people of all ages and abilities. 

It is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It's popularity in Wānaka is exploding, so come along and see what all the fuss is about!

New to the sport? Our facilitated sessions are a great way to get introduced to the sport with one of our team there to help you learn the basics.

  • Location: Wānaka Recreation Centre

  • Mondays 9:00am - 11:00am (Facilitated)

  • Wednesdays 9:00am - 11:00am (Facilitated)

  • Fridays 9:00am - 11:00am (Facilitated)

  • Sundays 8:30am - 10:30am

  • Only $6.00 per person (equipment provided) or buy a 10-visit pass for $54

  • Open to Year 11+

  • No experience required - beginners welcome

  • Bookings not required - just turn up!

Pickleball is also played at Paetara Aspiring Central on Mondays 6.30pm-8.30pm and Saturdays 1.30pm-3.00pm.
