Sport and Recreation Facilities Code Of Conduct

The purpose of the “Code of Conduct” is to provide a clear guideline of the behavior expected of all users of QLDC recreation facilities. This is the standard across all of our sites. The code of conduct aims to support an inclusive environment that has a safe and welcoming atmosphere for staff and community members attending our facilities.

Expected behaviour of users

All users of Queenstown Lakes District Council Facilities are expected to:

·         Obey the law, at all times

·         Gain prior approval for any photos or videos taken on our premises

·         Not behave in a way that is discriminatory, bullying, harassing, racist, sexist, violent, abusive or otherwise inappropriate towards others, in person or online

·         Remain free of the influence of drugs when visiting the facilities

·         Remain free of the influence of alcohol while visiting the facilities, unless attending a licensed event 

·         Refrain from tobacco use or vaping within smoke free areas on the premises

·         Respect the facility and the equipment

·         Look after any personal items. Lockers for valuables are available at some facilities. Any items lost at Queenstown Lakes District Council facilities are the responsibility of the user

·         Respect and follow reasonable staff instructions

·         Comply with QLDC’s health and safety requirements

·         Follow this code of conduct and other policies and procedures at Queenstown Lakes District Council facilities

Failure to follow any of the above expected behaviors will be reported to a facility supervisor or manager to be investigated and may result in suspension or trespass of the facility. We may immediately suspend your membership and exclude you from all QLDC Sport and Recreation Facilities for a period of time which we in our discretion consider reasonable.
