What we're working on

The full council workshop on 19 May provided some direction for our project team to go away and work on some concept plans for how four court and six court options might look.

We’re currently working on the concept design of these options for another Council workshop on 29 September. This workshop will be the deciding factor on whether we can proceed to the next stage.

Currently, the budget for the project sits at $46 million and the project team is continually testing the information we know and the cost of our current concept.

What's coming next

Concepts for the indoor court expansion will be presented at a Council Workshop on 29 September.

Following this workshop, we’ll have greater clarity on how to progress to initial designs.

What is not being worked on

We are currently working on a core scope that includes international sized courts (multi-purpose), a wellness centre with spin studio and group fitness studios, storage for QLDC programmes, and multi-function space.

Everything that sits outside of that scope is not being considered at this stage.

The procurement process to go out for further design and/or construction has also not commenced
