We are now at Alert Level 2 (Auckland is at Alert Level Three) until Sunday 7 March.

Our offices and facilities remain open during this time and we ask you observe physical distance guidance and good hygiene and coughing practices when visiting, and scan in using the QR codes and remember to turn on bluetooth in the COVID-19 tracer app. Some of our services have changed, find out more here.

QLDC Sport and Recreation operates three aquatic facilities on behalf of our local community.

We offer a variety of aquatic programmes at these facilities including Aquafit, Tri Squad and Ante-Natal Fitness.

You'll find a timetable showing which lanes are free and which are booked by clubs and groups throughout each day on the webpage for each facility.

Learn to Swim

Our learn-to-swim programmes cover all ages and are operated by QLDC Swim School, endorsed by the New Zealand Swim Teachers and Coaches Association (NZSCTA) as a gold quality swim school.

Community pools

In addition, Council also provides grants to assist with the operation of the following community pools:

Glenorchy Community Pool, Cantire Street (open Labour weekend until Easter weekend)

Hawea Community Pool, Hawea Flat School, Camp Hill Road (open Labour weekend until early March; weather permitting).
