*** Most of our facilities reopened under COVID-19 Alert Level 2 restrictions, including maximum numbers in each pool, on Saturday 16 May ***

The  hydroslides at Alpine Aqualand remain closed until further notice.

Please note the only aquatic programme running during Alert Level 2  is Tri Squad; unfortunately we cannot  adhere to national guidelines for other programmes such as Aqua Fitness and You and Me Maternity Fitness but we hope to restart these as soon as we possibly can.

Please click here to see more detailed information specifically relating to  QLDC Sport & Recreation and our ongoing efforts to slow down the spread of COVID-19. It will be updated as often as we can, and we will also share new information via our Facebook page.

QLDC Sport and Recreation  operates three aquatic facilities on behalf of our local community. Click each link for more info:

- Alpine Aqualand at Queenstown Events Centre

- Wanaka Recreation Centre

- Arrowtown Memorial Pool.

We offer a variety of aquatic programmes at these facilities including Aquafit, Tri Squad and Ante-Natal Fitness.

Learn to Swim

Our learn-to-swim programmes cover all ages and are operated by QLDC Swim School, endorsed by the New Zealand Swim Teachers and Coaches Association (NZSCTA) as a gold quality  swim school.

Community Pools

In addition, Council  also provides grants to assist with the operation of the following community pools:

- Glenorchy Community Pool, Cantire Street (open Labour weekend until Easter weekend)

- Hawea Community Pool, Hawea Flat School, Camp Hill Road (open Labour weekend until early March; weather permitting).
