National Policy Statement-Urban Development (District Plan Amendments)
The National Policy Statement for Urban Development (NPS-UD) 2020 sets out the objectives and policies for planning for well-functioning urban environments under the Resource Management Act 1991.
Changes and amendments to the Queenstown Lakes District Plan directed by the NPS-UD are described below.

Variation to QLDC Proposed District Plan Chapter 29 Transport & Plan Change to QLDC Operative District Plan Section 14 Transport
The changes amended the way accessible parking standards are expressed in the Operative District Plan and Proposed District Plan. The purpose of the changes is to ensure that the removal of the minimum on-site parking standards required by the National Policy Statement on Urban Development 2020 does not inadvertently alter the current requirements for on-site accessible parking.
