Statement from Nicola King

I was born and raised in Wānaka. This community has shaped who I am. I’m a working mum, a neighbour, and someone who cares deeply about the people and environment that make this place special. 

With a Masters in Sustainable Business and a background in tourism, communications, community projects, and governance, I’ve seen our district from many perspectives, its opportunities and its challenges.

What drives me is creating a future where our region is thriving, fair, and sustainable, with decisions that consider both today and the generations to come.
