Statement from Niki Gladding
For those of us waking up to the implications of climate change, the issues we will face, and that our children will face, can be completely overwhelming. So, I’m incredibly grateful to have a decision-making role.
During this council term, I’ll be focused on collaboration and on empowering our communities to make and advocate for positive change - change that puts the needs of future generations ahead of our own ‘wants’.
My background is in freshwater and marine biology, outdoor education and environmental activism. I’ve also been a bar manager, a bus driver, gardener and labourer.
I’m currently co-convenor of Aotearoa Water Action and have a keen interest in environmental law, particularly in relation to water allocation.
Please don’t hesitate to get touch if you need help with something or if you want to share your views and ideas on any issue. I’m all ears!
