Statement
Why
The current state of our infrastructure is catastrophic yet entirely preventable. Council leadership, consultants, and contractors have demonstrated complete disregard for our communities. Ratepayers must now take charge of finding solutions, as those in power have proven themselves incapable.
Profile
As a long-time district resident since the 1970s with deep roots in farming and experience in auto/heavy machinery, I understand both urban and rural challenges. An active Groundswell member since its inception and Taxpayers' Union supporter, I advocate for fiscal responsibility. I voted Act with few regrets so far.
Priorities
Queenstown's sewage crisis demands immediate action. Despite massive spending, infrastructure has deteriorated to dangerous levels, risking cryptosporidium and E.coli outbreaks. The current council leadership must be replaced after their decade of financial mismanagement and asset depletion. The only path forward is empowering ratepayers, who possess both the intelligence and vested interest to implement real solutions.
