Statement

Following a visit to Wanaka in 1975 I had a wish to make this region my home.

50 years ago, Wanaka property prices were higher than most areas in NZ. After hard work my wife Sue and I built our first Wanaka home in the early 1990’s, the town small compared to now. Sue and I have various business interests in Wanaka.

Witnessing growth and associated challenges over the decades and having children and grandchildren here gives me a sense of satisfaction and an insight into the challenges many face in this area. 

My first term was as chair of the WCB, this current term as Councillor. Being on council is challenging but rewarding. This council has faced several challenges, but through prudent decision making, have laid the foundations for a better future.

I commit myself to standing for another term to work for a positive future for our community.
