Statement
Queenstown has been home for 25 years. My wife and I are raising our kids here, and like many locals, we’re deeply invested in this place. I’m seeking re-election after one term on Council.
That term began with financial shocks—legacy projects, contractual obligations, and disaster recovery. It was a crash course in local government. We didn’t chase shiny ideas—we held the line and got the work done.
Now we’ve hit a natural pause, but growth is relentless, costs keep rising, and central government keeps shifting the goalposts. We turned a tough hand into New Zealand’s first Regional Deal—our best shot at easing the burden on locals and unlocking practical solutions.
As a councillor, business owner, board member, and parent, I bring calm, analytical, hard-earned experience. I know how Council works—and how it can improve.
The job is complex, but the goal is simple: future-proof the district.
