Statement
I’ve had the privilege of chairing the Community Board since 2022.
Highlights have included leading last year’s community health public meeting, completing Mt Iron’s reserve management plan, commencing Wānaka Airport’s future review and reshaping the $5m+ Wānaka Asset (Scurr Heights) Fund. I also championed large donations to the MAC Foundation, Housing Trust and After Hours Urgent Care.
I commit my strong leadership to:
-
Ensuring QLDC gives Upper Clutha its fair share of resources and prioritisation
-
Developing more sports fields and facilities
-
Acting as a guardian for our beautiful natural environment
-
People being at the heart of Wānaka’s town centre redesign
-
Supporting our volunteer community, especially Health Action Wānaka
I remain a strong advocate for people on bikes and our network of shared paths.
Professionally I’m a director/advisor to many businesses, including nine years chairing Dunlop Builders.
I live in Wānaka with Jo Shearer and our two daughters who attend MAC.
